General Information
The Kailua-Kona AYSO Soccer League cordially invites your team to apply for the 3rd Annual Kona Honu Soccer Invitational tournament to be held in Kailua-Kona, HI July 17, 18, 19 and 20, 2008 for Under 10 - Under 16 Boys & Girls. Use of the online forms is encouraged. Players from all over the United States and Hawaii are being invited giving our local players the opportunity to play teams with a diversity of styles and skills while at the same time introducing teams to the beautiful Kona Coast. Last year, the field of competition included teams as far away as Michigan and California as well as local Club teams making it not only competitive but fun both on & off the field for all teams. Through our 3v3 Challenge held prior to the Tournament, team hosting, and cultural activities, we accomplished our goal of fostering new friendships amongst players and coaches.
This is an AYSO-sanctioned open invitational tournament. All teams considered for acceptance must be registered either with AYSO, USYSA, USCS or USSF. Each team is required to present laminated player passes along with a signed and stamped roster form by the appropriate official. Signed medical release forms for all players are required.
Each team will be guaranteed three games. Team assignment will be made by the tournament committee.
Entry Fees: The entry fee will be $200.00 for U10-U12 or $300.00 for U14-U16 plus a $150.00 Referee deposit, which will be returned upon completion of referee requirements (see Tournament Rules & Regulations). Entry fees must be submitted with the application form. Your fees will be bank deposited upon receipt. Please make checks payable to AYSO - Kona Honu Soccer Invitational. Teams not accepted will receive a full refund. Refunds will be mailed out with the notification of non-acceptance.
All profits from the tournament will go towards supporting the Kailua-Kona AYSO program.
Application must be approved by the appropriate AYSO Regional Commissioner or League Administrator.
Deadlines: All team applications for the Kona Honu Invitational must be received by our Tournament Registrar by May 15, 2008 with completed rosters due no later than June 15, 2008. Acceptance information will be mailed by May 31, 2008. Teams that withdraw after June 15, 2008 shall forfeit their entire entry fee, unless a replacement team can be found.
Each player will receive a tournament program. Team trophies will be given to division champions - individual awards will be given to 1st - 3rd place division winners. Sportsmanship awards will be given to the team in each division who displays the best sportsmanship (refer to Tournament Rules & Regulations for point determination).
No housing will be available for teams - each team will be responsible for arranging their own accommodations.
Selection is by invitation and postmark date of completed application.

Your cooperation is appreciated in NOT emailing these types of questions to the Tournament Director.
In order to streamline as much of the tournament administration as possible, we are asking that forms be filled out online. This year, please fill out the application, player roster and referee form online. Once completed, the online forms will be emailed to you in PDF format. Please note that the PDF forms must be signed by the appropriate individuals and mailed to the tournament committee. Thank you.
